7-Day Dance Festival

A fast-paced creative process from start to finish.

The 7-Day Dance Festival (7DDF) ran as an annual community building event from 2017-2024. This opportunity was open to dancers of all styles and levels of experience. Participants registered with a group or as an individual to create a new piece of dance in just one week! Each year, these new dance works premiered in a culminating showcase open to the public.

In 2025, the team decided to put an indefinite pause on the festival to create space for new things.

We are so grateful to our wonderful community partners and festival participants for making 7DDF such a special event. Thank you to everyone who carved out space in their busy schedules for a week of creating together. Let’s stay connected!

In order to meet COVID-19 health and safety guidelines, the 2020 festival shifted to an online format. 34 dancers created 17 new dance films and tuned in from all over Washington state as well as California, Vermont, and even Hong Kong! Below is the 7DDF 2020 digital performance. Enjoy the show!
