Emphasizing sensation, class begins with improvisation and Laban-inspired floor work that develops towards standing, feeling sensual and rooted. Material is lush through the spine and pelvis and seeks to challenge our reach through space as well as our ease and efficiency moving in and out of the floor.

COVID-19 Guidelines: BRD currently requires proof of vaccination in all classes. Mask wearing is optional. Dancers must be fully vaccinated to attend and provide proof in the form of their vaccine card at check-in before class (note: a photo of the card will suffice).

Shannon Mockli is an Associate Professor of Dance at the University of Oregon where she choreographs, performs and teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in contemporary dance practices, improvisation, dance history, ballet, and pedagogy. Shannon presents her choreography throughout the Pacific Northwest and internationally, most notably as part of the A.W.A.R.D Show in Seattle, the Breaking Ground Festival in Tempe, Arizona, the World Dance Alliance general assembly in St. John's, Newfoundland, at UDLAP in Puebla, Mexico, at the Border Dance Festival in Tijuana, Mexico, and as part of the IUGTE Physical Theatre Lab in Bovec, Slovenia. Shannon is originally from Salt Lake City, Utah where she received her MFA and the L. Scott Marsh Mentorship Award from the University of Utah, Department of Modern Dance in 2008.
